JOHANNESBURG – Eskom fights under a massive debt of over R400-billion.
The energy company has applied for tariff increases by 15% over the next three years.
But after the first day of public hearings, Everybody faces a difficult battle to convince the regulator.

The household, which currently pays R1000 per month for electricity, will pay R150 more than April this year if Eskom gets its way.
In three years, this amount will increase to R2000.
President Ramafos intends to meet with the Eskom working group this week to update.
