President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick, has devoted the prize presented to him at the African Football League Award in Johannesburg on Saturday to the NFF Executive Committee, the Members of the NFF Congress and the sponsors and Federation partners.
Speaking in Asaba on Monday, Pinnick noted in undesirable terms that the road would have been much slower than without the support, courage and full vision of the NFF Board, the stimulating encouragement and unity of Members of Congress and An encouraging and helpful sense of financial support for sponsors and partners.
"I stand here today as President of the NFF and Vice President of CAF 1st, thanks to the full vision and support of my colleagues on the NFF Board, the unity and unreliability of the NFF Congress and the financial source provided by our sponsors. Nigeria is doing so much to support our programs and our sponsors are also doing a lot of work, "said Pinnick as he was awarded the African Football Leadership Award a few hours after the Super Eagles made sure that space was in the AFCON finals next year.
Pinnick is also President of the Arrangement Committee for the AFCON, who, for the first time, will welcome 24 summer teams next year.
Honorious also on the night was Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State, who won the African Football Development Excellence Award for his continued and lasting support for football in Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.
1st Vice President of NFF, Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi, the African Football Development Recognition Award for her passion, commitment and good investment in programs on the ground.
AFA Convever, Gerrit Davids, said the Awards program had the aim of encouraging more people to take leadership roles in football and sharing information about how best to make African Football really great.
