In November, not only in Lithuania, but also across Europe, is to prevent prostate cancer. This year, the three organizations have come together with the common goal of raising men's issues to talk even higher and include as many citizens as possible in active prostate cancer care activities. One of the most important ones is the final "Uava Runaway" event for men, not just for men.
Prostate cancer in Europe is diagnosed with 450,000 today. men The number of symptoms of prostate cancer diagnosed in Lithuania is up to 500. Clustering in the early stages does not show any clear symptoms, so men are encouraged to perform a specific antigen (prostant-specific PSA) test until old when they feel great.
Pauls Rakštys, head of the Society for Prostate Cancer Treatment, believes that prostate cancer is increasingly diagnosed at younger age, so older men should not only be worried about their health.
"Earlier, due to this disease, 50 year-old was required. Prostate cancer research should now be done over 40 years, especially for those whose families have cancer," said P. Rakštys.
Every year in November, various activities are organized to encourage men to carry out PSA tests, do not be afraid to talk loudly about prostate cancer, and to encourage their health to look after their loved ones.
This year, there are three organizations – Prostate Cancer Society, Water in November and USA fleeing – have joined forces to raise awareness of prostate cancer prevention this year.
The last one has been organizing a final event in November for the fourth year running, which started with the race of friends and grew up to an annual tradition that includes more than one hundred participants.
"In March, every marathon is over, people are moving less, so we thought it was a great time to grow rabbits and mustache, and spend it on the last Sunday of the month to run. The key idea is that if you can find time to come to the event, you can spend an hour and visit the doctor the next day, "said Modest Bacys, one of the Run Run Actors.
An interest in this event is growing every year. This year's route is being prepared at the Vilnius University Botanic Garden, where on November 25th. It is anticipated to attract as many as 500 participants. The initiative is sponsored by the pharmaceutical companies Ipsen and Sanofi.
Not just men, but also women and children are invited to an "Ufa Running" event. "We are waiting for everyone who can spread a message about prostate cancer prevention around them. After all, women and children can encourage their family to do research," says Bacys.
