Murder to be recovered after escaping the police custody for the fifth time

A murderer has been recovered after escaping the police custody for the fifth time since he was imprisoned for life.

Samuel McKinley had a day release not collected on November 15 when he went on running and attacked police attempts to bring back to custody.

The 57-year-old was jailed in 1996 after murdering his drinking partner following two-day gateways.

He claimed that so much alcohol was consumed he could not remember the death of Robin Stoddart, known as Johnny Rivers, 40, on an apartment at Onslow Road, St Mary's, Southampton.

The court heard that he had walked a long distance and kicked the knives that he used under a car – and then visited a friend's address to ask them to help him create alibi.

His sons, Jonathan and Samuel McKinley, 26 and 28, also sent sentences for murdering Choudhry Zishan housing agents in March 2014.

They beat him dead to death and took money from him to buy more alcohol than they were imprisoned at Winchester Crown Court in December 2014 for at least 28 years.

It is understood that McKinley 57 had escaped from police custody five times, including a long period in 2014 when he was completely before he was re-captured in 2015 and in February this year when he lost, but then it was restored.

The Northern Ireland Police Service said: "Samuel McKinley's large illegal prisoner had been arrested in the Belfast area this morning, Sunday 18 November.

And I'd like to thank the police for the help of the public. McKinley had a shortfall of the YG Prison Service during unallocated discharge on November 15 &

A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Prison Service said: Mr McKinley was sent back to custody in February this year following the abolition of his license.

Since he returned to custody, four previous periods of temporary release were given to Mr McKinley, in response to the recommendations of the Parole Commissioners.

The Northern Ireland Prison Service is working with the Northern Ireland Police Service to return this prisoner to a legal prison.

The Prison Service can not hold people indefinitely and pre-release testing is an essential element in preparing prisoners to release back to society.
