The singer R. Kelly was arrested in Chicago for federal criminal crime charges, according to two law enforcement officers.

A 52-year-old man was arrested by agents of internal security and detectives in New York City on Thursday on charges of trafficking in human beings, officials said.

It is expected that further details of the case will be announced on the eve.

New York police and National Security Investigation refused to comment on arrest. Calls to an American lawyer in Brooklyn were not immediately returned.

Attempts to contact the spokeswoman R. Kelly were not immediately successful. Dre Kelly, the former wife of the singer, had no comments after the arrest.

The R & B star, whose real name is Robert Kelly, has been the subject of various allegations of sexual violence for nearly two decades, with some of the foreseeable actions relating to 1998.

In February 2006 Kelly was accused of sexual violence involving four women, three of whom were minors when abuse occurred. He found himself innocent and was released from Cook County, Chicago, after placing a pledge.

The 2008 Jury justified Kelly's accusations of child pornography that stem from a video showing that he has sex with a girl under the age of 13. Kelly has faced 15 years in prison for this charge, but the young woman in this lawsuit denied she was her and did not testify.
