Customers at the Gulou Hotpot (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) restaurant receive a "fine" that they add to their bill if they leave the remainder at the end of the meal, Time Out Dubai reports.
This measure applies to customers who choose a hot bank offer: a hot broth which is prepared in the center of the table, to which are added meat, fish, tofu, vegetables and other products according to the taste of the dish.
This offer costs 49 dirhams ($ 13.3) and includes two hours of ingredients for an unlimited broth and beverage. But if the client loses his appetite, he will have to pay a fine that is even more than a price on a plate: 50 dirhams ($ 13.6).
In this way, the owners of the premises are intended to reduce the amount of waste produced by the restaurant, and to teach the customers to think before they are ordered.
