José Luis Rodríguez Gonzalez, better known as "El Puma", singer, actor and Venezuelan producer, came out on Monday, January 14, 2019.

El Puma was born on a modest seven on January 14, 1943 in Caracas, being the last of the 11 children of the Spanish merchant Jose Antonio Rodriguez and Ana Gonzalez.

Studied at the Industrial Technical School of Caracas for training in electrical engineering.

In the teenage years, he was a member of the Los Zeppys group, in which he was a vocalist and interpreted the themes of The Platters.

He is not only recognized for his musical career, but also for participating in the Venezuelan Telenovilas. In 1995, he founded the first Venezuelan music video channel: Bravo TV, which would have been replaced by Puma TV, which promoted artists, models, singers and all that was related to the entertainment world.

On May 10, 2004, he accepted US citizenship without renouncing the citizenship of Venezuela.

El Puma married a Venezuelan singer, Lilia Moriello, from 1966, whom she met in 1965. In 1996, he married Carol Perez. He is the father of Genis Rodriguez, Lilibet Moriello and Liliana Moriello, singers and actresses.
