The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights spoke today in the afternoon, addressing the Venezuelan Special Representative to the Organization of American States, Gustavo Tarré Brineso, to accept an invitation to visit the country.

On July 1, Briseno sent a letter to the IACHR asking for a visit to a special investigation into allegations of violent disappearances, torture and executions of Captain Corvette Rafael Acosta Arévalo.

In the letter, IACHR confirmed its "full readiness to visit Venezuela on the ground to comply with the human rights situation."

The document requested information on measures to guarantee the transport, transport and security of a delegation to Venezuela in accordance with the provisions of the IACHR regulatory document, which states that the host State should provide the necessary conditions for the execution of the mission.
