Super Mario Maker 2 ended Crash Team Racing A brief stay of Nitro-Fueled in the top of the UK physical retail cards.
The exclusive Nintendo Switch is the largest launch of the Nintendo of the year, ahead of the new Super Mario Bros U Deluxe.
The advent of the game coincides with a significant marketing push to the console, which saw that a number of switch names go up. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe jumps from No.8 to No.5 with a 39% increase in weekly sales, while Super Smash Bros Ultimate ranks Top 10 on No. 10, rising 14% on sales. The Legend of Zelda: Wild Breath has also risen by 66% in sales and is on No. 11 (compared to No. 22). The game in 2017 will skip on the Top Ten only 28 copies.
Another great keyboard renderer of the Bloodstained week: Ritual of the Night. The Nintendo version reaches physical retail this week (Xbox One and PS4 release last week), which helped increase sales by 60% and rise from # 17 to # 9. The Switch version actually sold more in the first week than the Xbox One and PS4 versions combined in the first week. The Nintendo Switch has proven to be a successful platform for retro-inspired indie games.
Nitro-Fueled may have had to abandon No. 1, but it still holds No. 2, with a respectable 48% drop in sales a week a week.
This week, many retail games were launched on physical retail cards, including F1 2019, which makes No. 3. It did not answer F1 2018's # 1 action last year, but sales are very identical. The F1 2019 managed to launch earlier in the F1 season (last year the game arrived in August), so Codemasters could have hoped it could achieve higher sales as a result.
Then in No. 4 there is a new Sega IP solution for the PlayStation 4.
Further down the charts, sinking the City from Big Ben (and distributed in the UK for Maximum Games) will make its debut at No.12, meanwhile, No.23 sees emergence with the Ravenscourt's new Car Mechanic Simulator.
The end of the recent sale of PS4 games means that a few exclusions from Sony fall into the chart. Spider-man falls from number 19 to number 39, for example. While the reduction in prices for Creed Odyssey Assassin made this game from No.34 to No.8, with a huge increase in sales by 136% over a week.
Elsewhere, FIFA 19 is falling significantly from recent advertising activity and falls from number 2 to number 20, dropping 75% on sale (football match was No. 1 only two weeks ago). The anthem also falls out of charts at all – last week it was No. 10.
But everything is very close there. Only 4,000 games divide No. 4 from No. 40.
